Diwali 2026: DIY Diya Painting, Craft Ideas & Return Gifts for Kids
Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026, and the Lakshmi Puja muhurat runs roughly 5:54 PM to 7:50 PM (check your local panchang for your city). The festival begins with Dhanteras on 6 November and ends with Bhai Dooj on 11 November.
Between cleaning, shopping and guests, kids often get left with a phone in hand. This year, give them something to make for the festival. Here are the best ideas, and gifts they’ll actually use.

|---|---|
| Dhanteras | Fri, 6 Nov |

1. Paint Your Own Diyas
Nothing says Diwali like a diya, and nothing makes a child prouder than lighting one they painted themselves.

- 4-diya kit: ₹199
- 6-diya kit: ₹299 (best for families or small groups of friends)
Tip: Let kids paint a few days before Dhanteras so the paint is fully dry before the diyas are used for puja.
